I was at that radio show yesterday morning. It was amazing to be in that tiny studio watching Jason's interview and his performance. I'm really proud of the job that Johhny and Jayde and the rest of xl106.7's morning crew did with this interview. I even got to ask a question. No, not the one about the sex symbol status ... I asked about if he knew yet who he would be touring with in January. My daughter got to "sing along" with Jason for about 2 seconds as we were walking up to him for the photo op at the end of the appearance. Taylor Swift's "Love Story" was playing in the studio. My daughter, who loves music, tends to sing out loud to her favorite songs when they come on the radio. Jason looked at her and started singing along with her. You can't really see it in the video, but it was super cute.
We weren't allowed to use cameras or phones while we were there. The pictures that their photographer took are available on their website and they are e-mailing each of us the full resolution file of our personal pictures with Jason.
Another observation ... I don't know if it was the bright orange background in the studio, but Jason's eyes were electric blue in that studio. When he looked straight at you, and he did look straight at me on several occasions (Squee!), it was literally stunning.
And here's a really touching story from yesterday. It really goes to show what true gentlemen Jason and Rene are. There was a mom with two little girls in the studio. The older of the two girls asked one of the questions and had quite a bit of interaction with Jason during the course of the show. When we went out to the parking lot after the show, the mom discovered that her car was dead. She asked me if I knew how to jump start a car. And I didn't, nor did I have cables with me. When I left, she was still trying to find someone to help her out. In the evening at the Ocala mall show, I saw the mom and her daughters arrive. I waved at her and she shouted across the crowd to me that she had finally gotten someone to start her car. Then she smiled and said it had been Jason and his father. Wow!
keyeser, it was great to see you again. Don't be a stranger!
Sue, another fun Jason day with you!
Kali, I hope your drive home was easier and faster than your drive to Ocala.
I'm uploading video to YouTube from last night. It's taking forever! Pictures will have to wait until my daughter gets home from school because they are on her camera.
Yesterday was wonderful! I can't wait to do it again the next time Jason comes to town!

Here's the first video. It's of sound check. The video quality of this one is not great. :/
At :20, when he points and says "Hey! You're my friend from Miami!", he's talking to my daughter. (Squee!) I think he meant to say Orlando. He remembered her from the morning radio show. She gave him a mix CD of her favorite music and he told her afterward that they had listened to it all the way from Orlando to Ocala. (Squee!)

It was! And it was exciting for me, too. Isn't it weird that as a parent you are more excited when your kids get recognition of any sort than you are if you get that recognition yourself?

Here's video #2, Love Uncompromised. I didn't tape "That's What I'm Here For" because I knew my hands wouldn't be steady if I held the camera up in front of me for the whole show. After that song, my husband volunteered to be the videographer, so we have him to thank for the videos. He taped my not lovely profile while I listened and mouthed the words. The blond lady sitting right up front in a chair had driven by herself for two hours to get to the show after she heard on morning radio that he would be appearing in Ocala yesterday. She arrived at the mall at 9:00 AM to stake her spot out, front and center.

Ok where to start...my alarm went off at 5am...naw fast forward>>>>>>>>off work at noon, rush home to change and hit the road..fills up gas tank and on the road....with my lil travel buddy heheheh notice the sun shining ....keep that thought lol. get about 60 miles down the road and the rain starts...pleasent lil pitter-patter at first then GUSHHHHHHH aaand it lasts until Gainesville UGH.add to the rain schoolbusses WTH? logging trucks? and believe it or not overturned trailer full of insulation on 75..needless to say I was a 'bit' haha understatement late...ok I was A LOT late! but thanx to the efforts of the ladies in attendance and a special shout-out to samecage's hubz who told me to sneak in thru sears haha I made it! Serious the Paul Blarts were estimating the crowd at 400-500 and the entering thru Sears got me up front WHOOP! I missed the first song but OMG Jason's voice has gotten so strong and his confidence wowzers...he was bantering with the crowd and doin a lil dip steppin...I was so tickled..then he sang Hallelujah. Oh man I cried like a baby! That song has special meaning to me because of Mum...it reminds me of the 19 months dealing with her fight with cancer..which is my entire time with Jason too. He has been my escape and my strength through her battle and that song...wow THAT song brought it all home. Enough wanhwanh...after Jason was done I caught up with the ladies! and we had ourselves some fun... I told ya'll I don't wanna grow up plthththth We got at the very end of the M&G line and I'm telling you Jason has the patience of a saint! He smiled spoke and signed stuff for 2 hrs..and the smile never left his face! He looked weary...but happy! WHOEVER SAYS JASON IS A LAZY FLAKE FU! serious that boy has been doing at least 2 shows a day (morning radio/tv, evening performance) for how long and over what distance??? I don't know many that could keep up that schedule and do it with a smile for everyone! His work ethic astounds me. After we left the show a group of us went for dinner at Zaxby's Dreadheads, Copians we are all JUST FANS OF A WONDERFUL GUY! and that was soooo evident yesterday. and yes the trip home took 2 hrs less...I was actually in bed by 1 ...grrrr

Great recap, Kali! I'll tell by hubby he got a shout out. ;D I'm glad you got home okay.
Here's my final video from last night, It's Hallelujah. Every single time he sings this song, I believe it gets better. Just how is that possible?

Thanks for the recaps and personal stories. Each time I read these from each city, I feel like I am right there with you guys! I agree it is about seeing Jason, but it also very much about seeing the ladies and friends that I have made. Such a great thing. Kali, sorry Hallelujah made you cry, but I bet your mum was listening from above and smiling. (((HUGS)))

I'm probably going to write a recap this weekend. I had so much fun and the show was awesome. Here's my pics. Courtesy of Kali who stepped up and helped me out when the battery on my phone died right as I approached Jason in the Meet & Greet line.

I've got videos, but only of the soundcheck and and the first three songs. I somehow was holding the camera, thinking I was recording the last two numbers and was getting nothing. I somehow stopped recording after he had given away the Xbox. I'll try to get those uploaded soon as well.
