I have been loving every video and picture on this tread! Thanks so much, everyone! Seeing him singing on stage with the Steadies and the Grove sign in the background...it really is like an amazing dream to me. Like something from a movie... I can only imagine how wonderful it must have been for all of you who were actually there Soo...a cool little thing...this morning as I opened my Rochester Democrat & Chronicle newspaper to the Newsmakers section on the inside of the front page, what did I see...?? A picture of Jason singing at The Grove!elebenty-one He was the featured photo of the day!! All the way from LA to upstate NY!! I felt soooo proud of him!!!

Amasette ! I saw the pic and blurb in the Dem & Chron this morning too and was so excited!! Very cool, huh ?! Any way you could share the picture/article with us?? There wasn't an accompanying article, but the caption read: Ex-American Idol contestant Jason Castro performs in L.A. Wednesday for the Donate Life Concert Series. And the picture was a black and white shot of him from guitar-up, eyes closed , looking downright adorable...with the Grove sign in the background. As soon as I saw it I tried to find it on the D&C's online paper, but couldn't...

I was so bummed when I read jason's tweet about auditioning band members! I always wanted to see Jason with the Steadies. They sound awesome together... I can't imagine a more perfect band for Jason. Now i'm extra- envious of all of you lucky women who had that experience!
Glad I backread here and found out the reason for this split.
I'm just relieved that it was the Steadies choice, and not forced by Atlantic. Believe me, I understand these things. My husband used to be in this really amazing artsy band. They were all single, but- we were married with kids. When they decided to tour, he had to quit- no way he could give up the day job. The band never became "known", but creatively, they had a GREAT run with a little cult follwing. Dave still plays in bands, but none that good since.
Too bad for the Steadies, though, that they aren't in a place to jump in!

THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT IS IMPORTANT! And that's just ONE of the great reviews he got!!
©Pacific Rim Photo Press.
In this big city of Los Angeles, there are many celebrity events to cover during the week. However, there are few that are hidden gems that should be attended. In this week's case, the surprise event was the Donate LIfe Summer Concert Series at The Grove featuring Michelle Branch and Jason Castro this past Wednesday, August 19, 2009.
Opening the concert was Jason Castro. This reporter/photographer was up front and center thinking that this would be another "American Idol" contestant just making an appearance to keep his exposure alive. What a mistake. Jason Castro was greeted with complimentary cheers from the Michelle Branch fans. However, once Castro strummed that first note on his guitar, there was no doubt this former "Idol" contestant can carry his own performance. Throughout his repertoire he surprised the audience with his strong voice and guitar licks creating new found fans. His facial expressions during his songs gave more emotion to each word coming out of his mouth. Jason even had a moment to smile for the cameras as celebrity event photographer Luis Martinez, yelled back to Jason during a quick 30 second break, "Jason! Show me that smile." Jason happily complied.

I don't mind that Jason is getting his own band. The HS have a distinctive sound...I hear it in a couple of Michael's songs..and I want Jason to have his own sound. I'd like to see him get some band members that wash their hair more often too.
