So far I think there are about 9 people that are definitely going to do street teaming.
We hope to get there in the late morning, early afternoon so we can spread the word and get people to come back or stick around for 6 pm for the performance.
Getting geared up!!

I decided not to go to Wilkes Barre.
When the Webster date came up, well, they are both 4 hours from me, and I'm not working the day after Webster, so I can stay over somewhere if i'm too tired to drive all the way home.
I would have gone to wilkes barre if i had someone to carpool with, but 8 hours driving in one day, all alone, is just a little too much!
I'm still trying to win Albany tix, and I'm definately going to the White Plains mall show.

I am unable to go now. My daughter needs to be picked up from dance class and my husband is in his grad class until 9:45pm, so he can't do it.
It sucks, I go all the way to TX to see Jason and I can't go when he is 2 hrs away from me!

This sucks for me, too! I ended up taking time off for the webster "Show" and agreeing to work this afternoon instead. Now I find out that Webster is just a quick Meet n Greet. i love Jason, but I'm not driving four hours for that. And now I blew it for going to Scranton. Well, maybe i'll win Albany, and theres always Poughkeepsie! Have fun, everyone who IS going!

Yesterday was a beautiful sunny, warm day in Pa., just perfect for our drive to the Steamtown Mall in Scranton. My husband closed our family business for the day, and he, my daughter and I piled into the car to make the trip through the beautiful mountains of Pa. to see Jason at the mall! We got there at 4:00pm, so we did alittle shopping at the mall...I couldn't believe how calm everyone around the mall was. I was so excited to finally be able to meet Jason for the first time, that I was just about jumping out of my skin! Finally, 6:00pm rolls around, and Rene comes out on the stage to check things over. I am struck how much more handsome he looks in person! The DJ announces Jason, and he comes out on stage. My husband, daughter and I were only about 6 to 8 foot away from the stage...I couldn't believe how close we were to him. He sang 5 songs: That's What I'm Here For, SOTR, Hallelujah, "Let's Just Fall in Love Again" and Love Uncompromised. He sang these songs beautifully, and he has improved with his singing techniques...he just keeps getting better and better and hits all the right notes. Some young girls behind us said "look, he still makes those same cute and adorable faces when he sings just like he did on AI"! (I thought that was so cute that they said that).
After Jason finished singing, everyone lined up to go up onto the stage with Jason to get a picture taken and an autogragh. My daughter and I finally get up on stage and are awaiting our turn to meet Jason, when Rene comes rushing over to my daughter, Rachel. He was smiling and asked her if she had purchased Jason's new single "Let's Just Fall in Love Again", and told her it was available now on I-tunes for only $1.29! She told him she planned on buying it tonight when we got home...she thought it was so sweet how excited and proud Rene was of his son. Well, then Rene asked me if I had purchased the single and I replied that I had...just then Jason looks over at us and says laughingly, "dad, stop talking so much, you are holding up the line"elebenty-one! I think he probably wanted to get done and have something to eat. I saw him stuff something in his mouth, and he had to chew it quicky before getting his picture taken with the next person...still the same adorkable Jason haha!elebenty-one!
His banter between the songs was cute; he mentioned about getting a new guiter but I believe he said he wasn't using it yet. He also said, "welcome to the Steamboat Mall, then he corrected himself and said, "I mean the Steamtown Mall...this isn't a steamboat!elebenty-one His smile and happiness is just so contagious, and he wins people over with it. I know my daughter, along with others, left that mall a fan of Jason's. After I got my autograghed picture of Jason, I just stood with my daughter to the rear of the crowd just watching others get their autograghs, and i was approached by many people asking who he was and how they good they thought his music was. That made me so happy because that's what its all about...winning fans over one by one!elebenty-one
What a wonderful day meeting Jason...a day that I will keep in my heart for many days to come! My daughter took lots of video and pictures that I would love to share when she sorts through everything but I'm not sure how to post all that but I guess we will figure it all out!
Oh I forgot,..my husband met Jason and shook his hand and told him we loved the new single and how proud we were of him!elebenty-one Sorry this is so long..I am still so excited that I finally got to meet Jason...the day couldn't have been more perfect!

Californiadreaming.....wow....so thrilled for you! You hit the nail on the head, Jason is winning over new fans and making people aware of his music and his gentle spirit.
Jason is going to be huge and that makes me happy, because so many people are going to be moved by his music.
Peace and Love
Oh...can't wait for the pictures etc. Hope you figure it all out sooner than later :-)

Awww, dreaming, thanks for that!! It does, indeed, sound perfect....
I love how people are just drawn to him. How many people listened to him, do you estimate? Did they appear to already know him, or were they new fans? Ages? Sorry, I ask a lot of questions, but I'm so anxious to experience this.
Your daughter was not a fan before? I am taking my daughter to Lansing next Wednesday. Although I'm sure she will never be as huge a fan as I am, I am hoping that she will at least understand why I am so supportive of him.

Californiadreaming: Thanks for your recap! I could just feel your excitement coming through in your writing. I love that your husband shook Jason's hand and told him how much he appreciates him! Please do post your daughter's videos and pictures. We love to see them. I'm glad you had a perfect day. I can't wait until it's my turn on the 27th. I'll have my husband and daughters with me, too.

Thanks, guys...I'm glad you enjoyed my recap! Gramma, I'm not sure how many were there but I'll venture a guess. I think there were about 100 people there but it was hard to tell because there were people up on the second floor of the mall looking down at the stage, and they would come and go at all times, Then there were the people that were shopping and would stop to check him out as they passed by. Of course our Pa. and New Jersey street team leaders were there, Gloria and Ilene, and I also met and talked with Lakendra who is such a sweet lady! There seemed to be alot of girls around the age of 14 through 18 standing near us, and they said they were fans of his from seeing him on AI.
My daughter wasn't initially a fan of Jason's music...she goes for bands that have a heavier rock sound. But when I mentioned that her dad and I were going to the Scranton show to see Jason, she said she wanted to go to. She kept telling me how excited she was to be going and admitted that she loved his version of Hallelujah which she heard on my i-pod. She's a fan now (not at the same level as I am) but she said last night she wants to go to a concert with me when he goes on the big tour. She knows alot of the venues in the Chester and Philly areas since she goes to them to see the bands that she likes!
You know, the more that I think about it, there were people of all ages in the crowd at Scranton....I saw little ones as young as 4 and 5 getting their pictures taken with Jason, and there were men in the crowd as well. Several men, along with my husband, went up onto the stage to meet with Jason as well. When Jason first entered the mall, he was in a small room with the radio personel, and it had a glass window. Some teenagers were squeeing about seeing Jason there so I went over to investigate. There were alot of males over there watching Jason through the window, and I heard one guy say to another "wow, I can't believe Jason Castro is actually here"! I laughed to myself and thought they get all "fangirly, too!haha! And after he was done singing, alot of guys in the crowd were whistling there approval! To me, the whole night was just perfect....I thought he would only sing 2 songs at the most and he did 5! And it wasn't rushed either...It lasted over an hour so I was able to gaze at his beautiful face long after I got his autogragh!

It does sound wonderful!
I like hearing there was a good mix of ages and gender in the crowd. Those squealing teens are an important component to his success. And the guys, too.

Hi all We had a great time seeing Jason at the Steamtown Mall show in Scranton, PA yesterday. (near Wilkes Barre) Jason was so gracious with us all and spent a little extra time with us being his true fans and street team supporters. (There were many true fans there but a few kids and passers by that prob didn't know much bout his music. But after hearing him I think they will be now) He sounded even better live this time as he has grown into a more experienced vocal artist. He said he was happy to see so many familiar faces ;D Here's a few pics... Linda, Lakendra, Cathyanne, Gloria, Jason, Ilene & Elisa Is that a halo over his head? Rene doing soundcheck Cathyanne got a sweet hug This one's for Darlene (Darlin') Glo

Thanks for the great review, californiadreaming! I love your comments about Jason's wide appeal to all ages and genders. I can feel the excitement you felt in your words. Thanks for sharing with us, and can't wait until you get your pictures and videos up.
And Glo, thanks to you, too, for your pictures and comments. I can't wait for the 23rd to get here and it's my turn to see Jason again ... and in a much better setting than the AI tour crunch!
