As a way to avoid further confusion and/or misinformation we will try this. I highly recommend that you address your questions and/or concerns directly to JCST but if you are confused or just don't want to go to one of their many sites please feel free to post any and all questions having to do with STREET TEAMING here. One of the JCST leaders will try to help you or link you to the necessary location. Now Dreadheads this is not the place to say....when is Jason coming to BFE....where can I buy a t-shirt or why did he, how did he, can he, will he, won't he....you get the idea. This is for information pertaining to STREET TEAMING upcoming appearances..

Street Teaming 101: If you are interested in street teaming or want more information about your area, these are the steps you need to take. 1. Sign up at www.jcsthq.com That's it. From there we will contact you and you can talk to your state or regional leader about the next steps and/or any events going on in your area.

Thanks for the sticky, Kali. =) I know I've seen lovebugger over her advertising for assistance with the Ontario, CA, tour stop and Singin said she needs some help in Florida. If you're in these areas and are able to help with promotions for both the days leading up to the concert and the concert itself, please let them know. Thanks! Contact info for street team leaders listed HERE

Jason tells people to go to Jasoncastromusic.com to find out more information about him. He doesn't mention jcsthq.com . Perhaps it says JCSTHQ.com on the flyers that are being distributed but since I've never seen one that doesn't help me or newly interested fans who happen to hear his song on the radio. When people were asking questions here earlier today, I tried to see how easy it is to find Street Team information, as I'm not on the Street Team and not familiar with all that goes along with it, just like the new fans Jason is gaining. I struggled through the overwhelming amount of information on JCM and finally found the Street Team link under Community. When I clicked on that link, it took me to StreetPropaganda.net . There it says Add Jason to your MySpace or Facebook, but doesn't provide links. It is not user friendly or inviting. In fact, on that page it states "This artist does not currently have any media available." "This artist does not currently have any releases available." Huh?
I've been on bulletin boards and forums for 15 years and still feel lost when I go to JCM and to Street Propaganda. I signed up on Street Propaganda to see if I could find people to help me, but it didn't help. In fact I can't get on Street Propaganda right now even though I verified my account. I read in the General Mall Tour thread here that Street Propaganda can be sticky at times so we should just contact our Regional Leader. If I'm a new fan I have no idea who my Regional Leader is, let alone that I have to contact her/him. I clicked on lots of links on JCM.com and finally came to a Heading that said Street Teams. Under that it said "the Cafe is still open if you want to talk about street teaming" (or something to that effect.) How the heck do you get to the Cafe?
I'm not trying to give anyone a hard time, but I haven't been to the Cafe in months and no longer have the link. I don't want the link for myself, but I just do not understand how people are supposed to find their Regional Team Leaders or have questions about Street Teaming answered if they don't belong to a forum like this where we can ask questions and have the Street Team converge on us with responses. I see no link to the Cafe on JCM, but then maybe I'm just not seeing it with the sensory overload there.
It probably seems very simple and straightforward to those of you that are involved with the Street Team and JCM, but speaking as someone who is not involved, it's extremely confusing.

I have to agree that street Propaganda is very impersonal and confusing. But is it important in any way, because its an atlantic thing? I would rather just deal with the team leaders directly.

Hanna - one of the reasons we ask people to go to jcsthq first is so that there is someone to help navigate Streetprop. Signing up there is the first step that a street teamer will take. We know it can be confusing and want to help people have a better experience. As for the cafe - it's still at cafe.jasoncastromusic.com. There are links to it on JCM. I understand that the site is overwhelming and it would be easy to not see everything there. You can find the link under the Discussion threads or on the front page here: Thanks for your voicing your questions so that we have an opportunity to clear things up.

Thanks for your reply, Liz. I understand why you ask people to go to JCSTHQ first, I just don't understand how newly interested fans are supposed to know that. Seems it would be a LOT more helpful if the Street Team link on JCM led to JCSTHQ rather than the Street Propaganda site. Anyway, at least a few more of us know where to send people now.

Hi, Just1! Street Prop is important. We ask that all team members sign up there so that they can file mission reports showing that the materials Atlantic has provided have been used. That can be a conundrum in itself, but we've posted instructions on both the Cafe and on JCM to walk you through it, and we have people available to help if you have questions or problems along the way. The cool thing about Street Prop is that you can also do promotions for other artists you like and everything you do for either Jason or any other artist earns points that you can use to get prizes from the Street Prop store. The biggest difference between the two is that StreetProp is for all Atlantic artists in their Pop/Rock division, but the Jason Castro Street Team is focused solely on him. Hanna -- It's true that JCM can be confusing; it's very different from what anyone who has spent time on forums might be used to. It's a fairly new platform and the format is common for several Atlantic artists. The good news is that anyone who goes to Jason's MySpace -- which is linked on JCM -- will find the street team all over his Top Friends and they can contact us there, too.

Hi, everyone! I'm CMF (aka charismaticmegafauna, aka "Michele"), state Street Team Leader for Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C. I agree that all of the Street Teaming information is hard to navigate and I sometimes miss important information that was posted here, there...somewhere I didn't see. Hopefully we're getting the wrinkles ironed out and the process will become more streamlined by the time Jason is touring (for realz). In the mean time, don't get discouraged. Th State and Regional Street Team Leaders are working hard to get the word out and organize. Street Prop has a lot of great resources for us to utilize, it will just take a little more time for everyone to "get on the same page".
Sooo....if anyone's interested in Street Teaming in Maryland, Delaware, D.C., or Virginia....please contact me at jcst_md@yahoo.com and I'll get you on our list. Once I get someone on my list, I try to pass along all information from Atlantic, Street Prop, JCM, and HQ to my members directly through e-mail so they don't have to sort through all of the different sites.
I'll be at the Mall Tour Stop at Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge, VA if anyone's interested in helping Street Team. We'll be passing out fliers and getting people to sign the mailing list. E-mail me at jcst_md@yahoo.com with any questions.

May be a silly question, I have not signed up on www.jcsthq.com/ yet. I am however receiving emails from my state leader as I was on the street team when it first came to be. So do I still need to sign up with that site? I did sign up with street prop and get newsletters from them, so is that all i need to do? I have tried to get on to street prop again since. My street leader is having personal issues and not able to keep up with the communication so I believe the Wisconsin leader is handling Michigan. There has been no activity on the North Central Region thread at the cafe since March except in Minnesota. Is that where I should look for the info or to the myspace. I rarely use my myspace anymore, but have not received any messages or blogs from there either, I checked. The Lansing Show is over so it is not a rush, just checking for the future. Thanks.

So do I still need to sign up with that site? Not a silly question. In the beginning there was a questionnaire. You would have filled that out and emailed it to us with your information. We just turned that questionnaire into an online form to make it easier to find and submit the info - and so we would have an easy way to get it. As long as you're in touch with your lead, you're good to go.

So they want to know where we went and what street teaming we did?? Is that correct. Can we do street teaming, handing out fliers and so forth by ourselves?? Or just as part of an event??? We are out of fliers after Michigan, but I saved one so I could scan it and make up more.

I thought that was the answer, but just wanted to make sure i would be good to go as I know Heather is not able to assist now. If I have any questions, I will let Sarah know. Now to get Jason back to Michigan so I can do some work for him.

We are out of fliers after Michigan, but I saved one so I could scan it and make up more. Once you sign up for a street team, you're state street team leader should have directed you to the Street Propaganda site. They are officially in charge of working with the record label (Atlantic) and handle all of Jason's promotional stuff. Street Propaganda was happy to work with Jason's street team that was formed before he signed with Atlantic. If you go to the Street Prop website, you can register with them to get specific street teaming "missions" to complete. If you complete a mission, you can document it and send a report in to Street Prop for "points". I think that's what you're talking about. Right now, they're suggesting online street teaming ideas and stuff to promote the Mall Tour. You can street team outside of these events, but there are guidelines to follow. You're state street team leader can forward you a copy of the guidelines and suggestions. They can also request more materials for you or give you a template you can use. We want to make sure that any materials we distribute are official and of professional quality. Your state street team leader should be able to answer all of your questions. The Street Prop and Atlantic people communicate with Street Team HQ, who then pass information on to the regional street team leaders and the state leaders.

I did street teaming at white plains today. I handed out fliers for the show, and invited people to "come on down" . But I didn't take any pictures while I was doing it.
Can I just file a written report without photos? I honestly don't care about the points, and I doubt I'll ever promote any other artist besides Jason.

Just1 - I heard what a great job you did today! You rock, girl. Lucky Jason.
Were the fliers given to you at the event today? If so, then you don't need to file a report. The person who received the fliers initially should file the report. Sorry for the dumb question -- I'm not sure of your full name, so I don't already know if you received fliers directly.
