FYI: We really need to get as many people as possible into these shows, and the best way to do that is to advertise as much as possible in the days leading up to the appearance. If anyone is available to help out with pre-show promotions for any of the upcoming dates -- particularly Florida, Ontario and Texas, please contact your state leaders. If you're not able to do in-person promotions but have a MySpace or blog, you can help to promote the tour by pasting one of the banners posted on this page to advertise the tour: blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=424723957&blogId=512400787

Discover Mills Mall in Atlanta:
The street team has had some issues re: permissions at this mall -- issues that we'd hoped would be worked out earlier than this -- but as of this moment they aren't resolved and we're having to limit what we can do at the mall. We're all sorry for the inconvenience but we have to ask that if you're not on this list below, please don't plan on participating in official street team promotions because of the limitations mentioned above.
Yolanda Sacha Colleen Brenda Lynne Tammy Roy33 Kennedy Mel Lee Rebecca Christine
Please watch for info from Yolanda (ymbcastrofan) regarding meeting place and time.
Just to clarify: the Georgia Street Team leader sent out a request for volunteers to all registered street team members in the area. The Southeast Regional leader also posted that if anyone wanted to help they should contact her by noon yesterday. The list is based on those who responded to those requests.
Thanks for understanding.

Just 1 where did you get "Fliers" to hand out for your show, I really am frustrated with some of the street teaming stuff, but not the fault of JCM, Atlantic's issue(I think) To try to keep up I only go to JCM, Street Prop or talk to my TX State Leader and the South TX Leader, but even then sometimes it does not help me.
My current issue is with the "Posters" they sent out to prmote for the Mall Tour, A. These are HUGE!!! 12x18 B. They do not include ANY info regarding a MALL TOUR, LIVE EVENT ect C. The Small Space at the very bottom of the poster to HAND WRITE that he will be at the mall in my area is TOO SMALL(IMO not Professional to Hand write with my sloppy hand writting) D. The Poster is all Jason's Face, and unless you walk up close to it and read the whole thing you would have NO CLUE it is to Announce a LIVE event. E. It Looks more Like just a Album Promo Poster, which is fine except we are supposed to be Promoting the MALL TOUR and informing people where to come see him at.(Katy Mills Mall) F. IMO the TAMU Posters were perfect size and contained all important info, They looked Like a Poster for a LIVE CONCERT G. AS a result of these Posters being sooo Huge, They do not fit on any of the Promo Boards I am used to posting at(done this twice now) All the Places I have been to(alot of places) Do Not allow stuff to be put in there windows, in fact it is a Starbucks Company Policy that they do not allow stuff on there boards that is not A Starbucks Affiliated Event. I'm aware that Dallas Starbucks don't seem to make a big deal of this. I get told that I can post on the board but when the Main managers makes there "Board" rounds they throw away anything not Starbucks Related, BUT sometimes they miss or will Leave the smaller Fliers because they are not crowding the Board up!! If I were to hang these posters it will Take the whole board up, Or not even fit at all.
These also will not fit at Darque Tan(or other Tanning Salons boards) Where I usually post, Well none of the boards actually. And the Music Record stores in my area that allow Promo Fliers have a space for you to put a stack of fliers on the floor, to take. This Poster will not work for that.
I have also talked with owners of such stores, and they say that most people Like to be able to take a Flier with them, because they are in a hurry and usually have stuff in there hands, so if it is something they want to go to they can just grab a flier to have to remind them of the dates. This is why for Tamu I had to scan in and print some B&W extras for this purpose.
I also usually post at some CLothing Boutiques that have a small Board at the Cash Register, and the biggest that will fit on those is 8x10, Any Non Private owned Business will Require Corporate approval to hang a poster which they tell me usually takes a week, and they want you to leave a poster with them, not knowing if they will hang it up, throw it away, or even remember to get corporate approval.
My Nest issue is StreetProp making us Take Photos of all the places and writting down all the addresses, phone numbers ect of the places we post. Not so much of a big deal if passing out like 10 posters, but for the Fair I had like 100 Fliers after writting down like 20 places I stopped because it was too Time consuming.
It is REALLY hard(for me anywayz) By Myself to hold all the posters, my purse, keys, camera and a notebook(for writting places down) and tape or tacks, all in my hand to post this stuff. Because you gotta get in and out of your car so much, it is hard to grab all this stuff together, and if you put the camera back in your purse ect, you gotta get it right back out, Then you gotta put all your stuff down to take a picture. And Now the Posters are even Bigger, the smaller one's could be placed in an envelope
Also when I walk in with a camera, It seems to make people feel un easy about what I am doing, then I have to go through this long explanation of why I have to take pictures.
And then I have to log onto Street Prop and Type in all the Addresses, phone numbers, name of places ect I went to AND upload pictures of where I left posters, I barely have time to check my e-mail, I hate loading pictures like that. Why can't they just except a general Journal entry of our experience and a myspace link of some photos? At least Myspace has a bulk photo uploader, so it is faster.
IMO if you are street teaming alone they should forgo the pictures and addresses ect, and sometimes since I am a mommy I have Paris with me who rides in a car seat, so this adds an extra challenge, I have to buckle him back in and out each place we stop at and also need a free hand to hold his had in the parking lot
And Also sooo many of the places I went to did not have a address posted on the property, and I would have had to ask a busy employee for it and then write it down right there versus when I got back to my car.
When I street teamed for TAMU it was sooo much fun, but now it seems like a pain in my butt. Unless they devise a way to make it easier for us to do these missions, and make the Posters more Street Teamer friendly (easier to handle and post) and Mommy Friendly
This may be my Last Street Team Mission!!!
Sorry for the LONG post!! But I have been busy and meaning to post this for a week now!!
I'm probally the only one having these issues as I think I may be the only Mommy Street Teamer(not sure) most of the other street teamers I have met are like 10 years younger then I

I forgot to add that any of my HOUSTON Gals even if you are not a official Street Team Member please if you want to help me as in GO WITH ME to hang these posters please get in touch with me. I have to get this done Sunday, They need to be up at least a week before the Katy Mills Mall Show!!! Because I was at the Convention all last weekend I have to wait until this Sunday. Tomorrow I have my nieces B-day party to go to.
I only have 20 Posters this time(I knew better then to ask for more) so it shouldn't take as long.
I just need some Extra hands, we should both be able to get points I think. I need someone with NEAT Handwritting I'm scared to even WRITE info on these with my Handwritting
Houston Gals, Anyone Anyone?

marriedtoajason -- the fliers that have been used to promote at other shows were something printed prior to the change in the release date. They're not available anymore.
I know that certain aspects of the mission can be very frustrating. Will you contact S. Texas Leader, Lorraine, or your regional leader, Aggie02, to go over some of this?

Very Important Announcement: If you are planning to street team in Orlando for the 10/27 concert, please be sure to check in on-site with Jennifer, the Central Florida Team Leader. There are specific instructions for Florida tour dates that need to be followed, and it's critical that everyone is on the same page.
Stay tuned for further info.

I hear ya, marriedtoajason. The taking pictures aspect can be difficult. In one of my situations at a non-Jason event, it was downright impossible given venue regulations. StreetProp requires photographic evidence to show that work was done with the materials they sent you; however, if you have a good explanation of why that wasn't possible, they should be accepting of that. I know of 2 instances of mine where I just told a SP staff member via email what was done in my report but could not provide photographic evidence, and they were OK with it. Obviously if you can take pictures, it's better, but if it's not possible, they should listen to you...Obviously they don't want you to be unable to distribute materials BECAUSE of the camera requirement.

Special Street Team AnnouncementFor the remainder of Jason's Mall Tour, the street team will not be doing on-site promotions at the mall. The main objective of street teaming these events is to promote them to the surrounding community in the days leading up to the concert date, rather than in the mall itself or on the day of the show. Our materials will be most effectively used if they are distributed in a way that notifies the public beforehand so that they can make plans to attend the event; that means postering at colleges, music stores, coffee shops, etc., and distributing the hand materials, for example, to crowds at other concerts in the area, leaving the materials at movie theaters, and similar events. Although there were some material issues relating to the re-scheduling of the album release date, those issues have been resolved. Promotional materials are available well in advance for the rest of the tour and we're motivated to use these items where they're going to have the most impact -- which is outside the mall. If you have any materials and haven't been in contact with your state leader, please be sure that these materials are used in the community and that fliering/postering is not taking place at the malls. Thanks to all of you whose help has made this Mall tour such a tremendous success so far. There's still a lot of work to do for the remaining dates; if you're available and pumped to help out with promotions, please get in touch with your state leader for more information.

Not a silly question. In the beginning there was a questionnaire. You would have filled that out and emailed it to us with your information. We just turned that questionnaire into an online form to make it easier to find and submit the info - and so we would have an easy way to get it. As long as you're in touch with your lead, you're good to go. Thanks to the both of you. I thought that was the answer, but just wanted to make sure i would be good to go as I know Heather is not able to assist now. If I have any questions, I will let Sarah know. Now to get Jason back to Michigan so I can do some work for him. Hey, hey! Sarah or I can answer Michigan questions. I think I'll probably be checking the Michigan account the most! As long as you're getting the Michigan emails we send out about promoting, you're on the list! :-) -Ape (IL/IN leader)

marriedtoajason, I'm with you on your experiences with the large posters. They are very limiting to where they can go and of course we love the photo and it's very eye catching, but the area for the info isn't large enough to be seen farther away. I have a bunch and just can't figure out where I'm actually going to put these!
You are awesome to be doing all that you are! It's a great idea to get some Houston DH's to help! Wish I was there!
I would love it if we had some smaller flyers/posters to place somewhere for people to take with them. We'd have a much better chance of finding more areas to place them. I hope the streetprop/ street team people will actually keep this in mind for future reference!!

Hi sunshine*girl, You may want to touch base with your state leader...I think it's Elg...and see if she has any suggestions for the posters since we're not using them at malls. Off the top of my head I would suggest college campus student unions, high schools in the area (with permission, of course), music stores in the area and cafes where they have posters of bands/artists coming to town. We had success with some of these places in other regions. Hope this helps.

Hey ALL a Little Update I did manage to get all my poster up on Tuesday, First I wrote on them with a sharpie the Info, then ont he white part of his shirt there was a small corner above his name where I wrote in all caps FREE SHOW!! it could be seen from further away, so I thought the FREE SHOW part would catcht he eye and prompt people to come closer and see where the free show was at!! My hubby was in town, so I got to use his car, which is keyless, you put this little black device in your pocket, and jsut push buttons ina nd out of the car, So no keys to hold, and I also locked my purse in the car, so not purse to carry, Becaue I felt having to carry a camera was to much, I decided to charge up my iphone and use it to take the pictures. It is very slim, so I wore these cute Cargo type PANTZ!!!!!!!! from Guess that had Peace Signs on them, and put the phone in my pocket. So now my hands are free, and I kept the Posters on the Passengar side seat and would Grab one Poster while going in, and my tape and tacks, Holding these Items I could handle. Also the weather was nice this day, you will not be able to do this in the rain, posters will get wet and not really safe to be driving all around in a storm. I think I had beter luck because I Postered on a Tuesday Versus the weekend, Sunday or Monday, This is because everywhere I went had a Manager on Duty, which alows me to get permission straight from them to hang the posters!! I had no Issues with Starbucks this time because I had Written FREE SHOW on the posters, they did tell me that had it been a poster for a regular tour with ticket prices, I wouldn't be allowed to post. And although the poster did take most of the board, I got lucky that the boards were bare, They also allowed me to take off Posters of events that had passed to make room for Jason's. All the places if there was no room on the board would allow me to hang the top part of the poster ont eh bottom of the board and the poster would just hang off it, no big deal. Darque Tan still allowed mt to post on the wall next to the area they normally let me lay fliers. My Nail Salon I go to let me post right in the front window because I go there so much and the owner knows me. The music stores I only went to 2 of those, also gave me a front row spot, and so did some other Sandwhich shop/Cafe's like Pot Belly and Panera Bread, Pizza Fusion has a board by the bathrooms. I actually ran out of Posters before getting to a few places that Look forward to be coming in, there are a few Kareoke Bars that College Kids hang at, that I post at, The Key Words for me when Postering were FREE SHOW, and WHY YES he is a A&M ALUMNI SOOOOO many AGGIES in Houston!!! I took pics over every place I went inside and out and also then when I got back in the car, I wrote down the place I went on a notepad and the street and cross street or corner it was on, I didn't see addresses or phone numbers on any of the places so I didn't worry about that. Link to my Public Acting MySpace page, where I made a album of my mission is here viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewPicture&friendID=85063448&albumId=3091504I didn't even notice that my posters had the old album release date on it and had I noticed I would have marked it out, but I don't think it is a big deal because the point of the posters was to inform about the mall show, and if people go to his website looking for the album they will see the relase date got pushed back. I wish I would have had some type of cards or info to give out to people who were interested in Street Teaming that just had street team info on it. I did have several college gals very interested. A also had girls fighting over who was going to get to take home Jason's Poster once the event was over!!! NO ONE wanted to THROW these away!! There was one Starbucks that didn't have a manager on duty and the girl said, if the maager wants to take it down I will take it and find a new place near by that will let her post it, or she would take it home, She said His Face is WAY to Gorgeous to TOSS in the TRASH!elebenty-one Anotehr thing that helped me this time, was I usually dress in just Jeans Tennis shoes and Pastel T-shirt with very light day makeup on no jewlry, This time I dressed nicer, and younger(wearing clothes from the Guess store) More like I would dress going to a Jason Event, and had a little more nighttime makeup on and jewlry and perfume ect, I can easily pass for a college student, which maybe helped make me seem more approachable. Sooo long story NOT made short hahaha, My Postering that I thought was going to be bad turned out Awesome!!!

Are you postering in the NM area for the Texas shows, or just hanging the posters in general? I know your planning to go to Ontario. Are you in that area now? I believe that due to the change in CD release date and time constraints, those that signed up for the lifestyle mission after mid October are getting both posters and bookmarks. So if you signed up earlier you probably got just the posters. The bookmarks are great to leave on counters, etc just like you had suggested. Also there was an earlier mission before the mall tour, that consisted of small hand out fliers to promote the release of the single. Having worked a few different missions now with street prop for other artists, there is a wide range of promotional items that they use ; fliers, magnets, bookmarks, business cards, writing pads, etc. Keep your fingers crossed that these will be available for Jason real soon.
