Hi,hi! I'm sure I'm gonna be somewhat incoherent--Jason mentioned during his set that he was running on three hours of sleep, and I'm in that ballpark--AND I'm doing this on my iPod, so I can't really see what I'm doing, but here goes...(please excuse incoherencies and typos and grammar/style/usage errors):
IIRC, this was the set list (hopefully, corrections for everything I'm forgettin will be forthcoming): That's What I'm Here For Love Uncompromised If I Were You It Matters to Me You Can Always Come Home Crazy Let's Just Fall In Love Again Hallelujah (I'm not sure I have the order right. Cough suppressant does nothing for my powers of recall.)
Jason's singing was strong and confident, it seems to me he's getting better and better, and I say that in all seriousness (and some awe). And his banter was relaxed and funny, albeit a bit discombobulated. (Well, 3 hours of sleep and an adrenaline kind of day will do that to you. ) I was thrilled that he opened with "That's What I'm Here For"; I loooooove that song! And let me tell you--the place was reasonably quiet throughout, this is a music-oriented place. But for "Hallelujah" you could have heard a pin drop, and deservedly so. Beautiful. Also, Jason's set is much more varied than the other two (both of which I enjoyed--it's a good grouping, no matter which artist a person comes to a show to hear, they'll enjoy the other two), and that really makes it stand out as most interesting and rounded, IMO.
Oh, and I gotta add--it was so cool seeing so many DHs (and Copians)! I don't want to leave anyone out, which I will do since I am seeing cross-eyed about now, so I'll just say I had so much fun talking to everyone!
And now I'm gonna go put on my jammies and take some more of that cough suppressant--it (and about a dozen cough drops) worked through the whole show, maybe it will work for sleeping tonight!

really good job and from an IPOD! I am so impressed with your skilz lady! was Jason feeling better? I know when I saw him last in Ontario I thought too how much he'd grown vocally, he has so much more control. OK looking forward to pics and videos.

He seemed OK to me, he didn't look sick; He was very friendly and accommodating, patient as usual. Both him and Mandy look so thin, you cannot tell in pictures.

We will have to send them one of the chefs from Fantasy Island. I'm sure the Breakfast Club could spare one. They aren't eating right. Rereader, I too am impressed. That is some typing. Thank double thank you for your update and having put so much into the details, and you are sick. You and Jason, running on the same engines it would seem. Really hoping for a picture or two soon. Begging here.......

Great recap Rere...even under the influence of cough suppressant you gave us the whole scoop!
Was there any "big wigs" there or press people? I can't wait to see pics...it sounds like a lot of my buddies from White Plains were there...I miss you guys! Glad you all had fun!

He seemed OK to me, he didn't look sick; He was very friendly and accommodating, patient as usual. Both him and Mandy look so thin, you cannot tell in pictures. He looked good to me too, not sick--a little dazed by the end of the meet-and-greet, but hey, three hours sleep. Although going by the radio station's tweet, he was sick again this morning. BTW-- IT WASN'T ME!! I stayed well back and didn't even let him shake hands or come close--and I have witnesses! Both Raya (from Copia) and Cookie can testify that I had NO opportunity to give him even one germ! I don't have any pictures--my deep apologies! I did bring my camera, but they said no flash photography and I don't have a cute little camera in my brick-like phone, nor did I know how to turn off the flash--and then the show started, and I forgot all about taking pictures. And I never thought of my camera again. The same person who put up the two YouTubes Flying brought over also put up If I Were You and It Matters to Me: It was an awesome show! I know the YouTubes are excellent, but he's so much MORE live... Kiersten, I don't know if any bigwigs were there--I am short and Joe's Pub is DARK. So I couldn't really see anyone not at my table during the show, and only people near to me in the meet-and-greet. Sorry! Maybe someone taller will know!

I think Jason had the same shirt on when I saw him in Va. and at the radio station the next morning and in NYC. If it isn't the same shirt it is very similar. I guess he packed very light.

Caitlin was saying that they bought them together at the same store; If I remember correctly she was also saying she didn't wash hers, and Jason was wrinkling his nose..

deb - just1 - rhapabow (rhapsody) where you all at...... I'm here, I"M HERE!!! I actually just got home. I slept over at Linda and Ian's and had all kinds of running around to do when i got home, so let me catch my breath! The show was awesome. Jason was brilliant. I agree with fragileheart, he has grown leaps and bounds since White Plains. It also helps that the venue was obviously much better acoustically than a shopping mall. My only problem with the venue was that the waiters kept getting in the way. The food was great , but i wish it could have been served before the show started. I taped one of jason's songs for fragileheart so she could finally eat her salmon. And a waiters head got in the way at the end. Oh well, people have been posting some awesome vids of last nice, as i see on this thread. Thanks! And the drinks were pretty outrageously pricey! ( Hey ladies, who left the untouched $14 cocktail on our table?!?! I would have drank it if there weren't so many bugs going around!) Caitlyn crosby was adorable, friendly and very talented. Her songs really have alot to say to young girls who are trying to figure out those confusing years. I wish I had bought her CD for my teenage daughter. Mat hires was ok- a good musician, and I liked a couple of his songs, but alot of them sounded to similar to me. He was very nice , though, and i think he has a sound that alot of people really like- just not my taste, as much, i guess. Jason sounded great on EVERY song, but for me the highlights were THATS WHAT I"M HERE FOR ( because i love that song so much), YOU CAN ALWAYS GO HOME ( because Jason and Caitlyn seem to have a real musical chemistry. i hope they will collaborate on something someday)., and IT MATTERS TO ME ( because Jason really looked and sounded so emotionally invested in it when he sang it. You could just tell that he was singing for Mandy). He looked and sounded rested and healthy ( and beautiful) onstage, but i did thing he seemed like he was fading a little at the meet and greet. Lucky he's so young, to be able to survive on that kind of schedule. Mandy was just as sweet as i imagined she would be. She is also as cute as a bug, even if she does look about 15 years old in person. Not kidding about that! Its funny- she reminds me alot of betsy, both in looks and personality. She was wearing a button on her coat that said "BRIDE". That made me all AWWWWW inside. She was talking about Jason's voice getting hoarse if he doesn't get enough sleep, and that she makes him tea for his voice. I told her that she is taking very good care of him. She seems so happy, and proud of Jason. I had hoped to get a chance to see them interact a little, but Jason was really busy, as always, after the show, making sure to spend a few minutes with every fan. I had a blast hanging out with all the other fans. Some i've never met, but have talked to here, some who i met in White Plains, and some completely new to me. And of course Lindaras, who I have never seen Jason without her company, starting with the AI tour show. And Ian, our token "guy" and excellent photographer , and quite possibly the worlds best and most patient boyfriend ( he's a real jewel, Linda, i'm sure you know). After the show Rene ( Marley's Mom) said , "SO what everybody doing now? I could really go for a Buuurp juice" So Rene, Lindaras, Ian, Cookie, and Carol ( Scooters Mom) and i went out and found a bar where it didn't break the bank, and continued the party. It was really special to have that extra time to hang out and get to know each other. I wish that more people could have come, but I guess some people had more important places to go , like BOSTON (rhapsody...). Next time , we have to get it together and all plan to get together BEFORE the show! Or even spend a night somewhere like so many of you west coasters seem to do. I hope :next time " will be soon.... on the BAND TOUR! WHOOP!!! When do we find out the schedule? When I was looking at those Musicians photos on the wll- all had performed at Joe's Pub- Leonard Cohen, Pete Townsend, Patti Smith, lou Reed, Judy Collins, Carly simon, amy Winehouse, and so many more, i kept thinking WOW, What illustrious company jason is in. And I predict that someday HIS picture will be on the wall, and he will be a legend, and people will see his picture and say "WOW! Jason Castro played here!

OH YEAH, one more thing... Has anyone else noticed thgat Jason doesn't wear the gold ring from Mandy in his hair anymore? i have a strong inkling that it is now on his finger. Wouldn't it be so romantic if Mandy gave it to jason as sort of a promise ring, and he moved it to his hand on the wedding day? I wanted so badly to ask him or Mandy about it at the meet and greet, but i decided that would be just a little toooo personal! On a tangentially related note...I can't remember where it is , but in some culture, women wear a ring from their fiancee on their right hand, and then move it to the left when they are married, so the engagement ring and wedding ring are one and the same. I think thats really romantic symbolism, too.

Both groom and bride wear them on the LEFT hand while being engaged and move them to the RIGHT hand at the wedding.

I think its a very lovely custom, and also really sweet that both the man and the woman wear the rings during the engagement.
