Is anyone going? This is next door to the club where Jason/Fray played in December. It's a tiny night club, General Admission, and doors don't open until right before the acts start.

We aren't getting to this show early like last time because it's too cold to stand outside waiting for doors to open. But it's a small venue so hope to be able to get some pics and video.

Good luck-- Our show is at The Ark- seats 400 and 70 of the seats are reserved-- that's what we got-- doors do not open though until 30 minutes before-- but at least we will not have to run for good seats.

Just a report tonight as I'm trying to upload 2 videos and my computer is dragging. The Basement venue is strange in that there is a small floor right in front of the raised stage, then raised narrow areas behind and to the left of the small floor. I can't even estimate how many people were there but a wild guess would be 125. We stood on the floor in front of the stage, about 4 "rows" back so my view was ok, although I'm short so always have to look between people.
Caitlin did her set and was so charming. She's really hilarious with her banter and the crowd was very responsive. She did a great job with You Can Always Come Home with Jason. After her set Jason wasn't there; he and Stephen went somewhere because we saw them come running in with their coats on, so it was quite a wait until they got out to perform. We listened to the piped in music, the crowd sang along with Living on a Prayer, and eventually started chanting Jason's name for 10 seconds or so. When he came out he got some cheers and scream.
I can't remember all of the songs Jason sang because I was trying to take the videos and pics without getting in front of everyone & couldn't really concentrate. I know he did If I Were You, "Let's Just Fall in Love Again", Hallelujah, It Matters To Me, the duet, and Crazy. The acoustics in the venue were fantastic and Jason sounded really good. He joked about how hot he was because he wears lots of layers in the cold weather, but when he gets on stage it's really hot because the lights (he pointed up at the stage lights in front of him) are like "lots of little suns shining on us." After he said that Caitlin said "That was deep" and everyone laughed. He was sweating by the second song. He said he and Stephen were having a discussion before they came on stage about how Jason's jokes are not funny. I can't recall the whole conversation but Stephen said they're slightly funny, and that's only on a good day. Then later when Jason said people can follow him on Twitter at jasoncastro, Jason added "That's my name, don't wear it out" and Stephen actually smiled and gave him a big thumbs down.
After Jason was finished, Matt Hires got on stage immediately. 3/4 of the crowd on the small floor left to see Jason in the back of the venue so my friend Lisa and I thought it would be rude to leave. We stood there for 3 Matt songs then went to the back but Jason was already gone because everyone who'd been in line was gone. We decided to leave because my husb has to get up very early in the a.m.. I don't know if Jason was going to go back out to greet people after Matt's set, although only about 1/3 of the crowd was still in the club, but as we were driving past the venue on the way home we saw Jason & Mandy walking outside toward the parking lot with his guitar. My friend was disappointed that she missed Jason, but truthfully I didn't mind as I've met him a few times in the past. We saw Mandy sitting backstage during the show; I don't know if she came out for the M&G.
Matt Hires is a cute guy. I don't think his voice is very strong, but can see why his songs were chosen for 2 different TV shows, as they sound good as dramatic backing on TV. He was smiling at some girls who were singing and dancing to his songs, but his fans were kind of drunk and obnoxious so it was hard to record him over their voices. He didn't have much banter and had his whole band onstage.
I didn't get many good pics because I was shooting up toward the lights. I'll try to upload a few pics tomorrow and will post the videos once they're loaded.

This is Crazy. It's still processing. You may need to click PLAY, then stop it and let it load entirely. I recorded it sideways because I was peeking between people, thinking I could rotate it afterwards. But I can't figure out how to do it so you can take a little rest while you watch. Don't know why it's so dark, back lighting I guess. ww.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ3xX6losuw

haha...that's hilarious that Stephen says Jason's jokes are not funny.....and that Jason actually says that on stage.....love it! Thanks for sharing, hanna. I hope you had a great time! I feel bad for Matt that people are leaving after Jason's set, but it may be like that for the rest of the tour.....

Awww I'm sorry you guys didn't get to talk to Jason, but I'm glad you got to see him in that small place. The music alone is worth it as always. : )

Thanks Hanna - it was a very funny recap. It always amazes me how honest he is about himself, feeling comfortable to share his insecurities and flaws. So rare.

My pictures aren't great as I was shooting up into the lights but this one shows his bracelets and the gold ring in his hair.
