I loved the video! So is this song going to be available for purchase, because I would buy it tomorrow? I always liked Alex, because while so many of the others struggled with pitch problems from time to time, Alex was always on pitch! I was really schocked he got voted off, & was my early favorite. I am happy to see him doing something in the industry, and hope I can buy his music in the near future.

WOAAHHHH!elebenty-one GREAT SONG!elebenty-one ALEX IS ON HIS WAY My only objection is all the production. I don't care for the synthesized strings at all, or the little occasional vocal echo effect. I'm kind of a purist when it comes to my singer -songwriters. I want their voices left as-is, and I want whatever instrument they play to be front and center. Where is the guitar in this arrangement? I can hardly hear it! I wonder if the piano part is Alex? He does play piano, too. Alex's voice sounds great! He was my HANDS DOWN favorite guy til he got voted off. I really like another original that he played earlier on the dream house stage. I think its called WORKING" It really shows off his guitar style, too ( kind of jazzy).

He has a nice voice and good tone. Just don't like the pop-schlock of the song...I know I know it's 'popular' radio-friendly, I just prefer a bit of grit or heart and I didn't feel any of either. Jason has the heart in his pop so I likey...but...maybe it's just the song...truth is I wasn't feeling it and I like to be {{grabbed}}

LOL! I really like the pop-schlock of a song! ;D I think I am pretty easy to please. Justy, you are going to be hard put to find an artist, that is content to be as raw & unpolished as you tend to like them. This is exciting times for them, and they want to try new things and find ways to grow as an artist. I don't blame you for liking them untouched, so to say, but i hope you don't get too disappointed, when they want to clean up their finished product.

I know, cheezy- thats why I'm such a big live music fan. And why I have so many live cds.
I do have a few favorite artists who still keep it au natural-, or at least very minimally "processed"- Mostly acoustic, some electric, but the recordings sound pretty darn close to what you would hear on stage:
Jonathan Richman, Jacob Borshard, Patti Smith, Fred Gillen ,Josh Tillman, Jack White, Drew Ingle (nevershoutNever), Alina Simone , the Indigo girls, Brittany Shoup.
Most of them have been playing for years, but only a few are household names. I guess I just don't like the mainstream radio sound, so it sets me up for disapoinment when my artists get signed by the big labels.
Patti did do some stuff in the 80's that was way produced, but she has gotten back to her more stripped down roots.
Jonathan Richman is so opposed to technology in his music (or his life) that he won't even use an electric tuner! And he doesn't own a cell phone or a computer! For me , its just the "studio magic" that takes the life out of the music... i LOVE my computer!!!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoiJueDG8qoLink to another Alex original.. one i hadn't heard before. I couldn't get it to imbed. This has always been difficult for me to do I really like this one. Kali- if you are looking, check this out. you might find it to be more "from the heart", less contrived than the studio song.

I sure wish they would release this song to the public, so we could buy it! I have to come in here every so often and go listen to it. I just have such a hard time listening to live music, because the sound quality is usually iffy, and mostly, because there is usually people screaming, and talking, and that ruins the music for me. I guess we all want different things from our music. Another thing I hate from live music, is the way the performers, often insert a bunch of crap into the song to engage the audience, such as..... Whoo, C'mon now, Here we go, Put your hands together, Let me hear you sing it with me, etc......... All that is fine & good if you are at the concert, but the last thing I want to hear, is the audience singing, or a bunch of Whooooo's in the iddle of the song, by the performer. Also, with live performances, you get a lot more pitchyness from the singers, and I have an ear for perfect pitch. Sometimes a blessing, sometimes a curse, but give me a recorded song any day of the week, because bad pitch is almost painful to listen to, for me. I never realized before, how people would want different things from a song, for different reasons. Isn't nice how we can discuss and learn stuff like this, from each other? ;D
