I just heard from Sherry and she told me the following (from my horrible memory) - I know some of this will surprise everyone: - Jason was awesome
- Jason sang 6 songs, including "Let's Just Fall in Love Again", Hallelujah, Love Uncompromised, Feliz Natividad and 2 others
- Some accidentally got to see Jason before the concert - Sherry got to see him and make eye contact and got a wave, but didn't get to talk to him
- She met some really wonderful ladies
- Jason tried to get everyone to sing along, but only the first 3 rows participated (Sherry was in the 1st 3 rows)
- Jason has really matured with his voice
- The 2nd group that was suppose to sing didn't and The Fray only sang about 6 songs
- Jason didn't stay for a meet and greet afterwards because he had to drive to his next venue tonight
- It was really cold and rainey, but no snow
- Jason has dread locks
I feel quite sure the ladies who attended (including Sherry) will have a better recap, but I filled in for those chomping at the bit for some info. Did I mention that it snowed last Friday (04.Dec) in Houston? The earliest snow ever to fall in Houston.

Finally got home! We stood out in the freezing, pouring rain for 40 minutes waiting for them to open the doors. Froze our fingers and toes off! I heard from a little birdie that some dreadheads stood out there for a few hours. We were in about the 5th row center but since it was Standing only it was hard to estimate rows. I couldn't see great cuz I'm short, but did get a few pics and will upload them in the morning. Took 10 seconds of video too but I couldn't hold my arms up for any longer! A lot of people were singing along with Jason. Sherry may not have been able to hear us in the back cuz those speakers were huge and LOUD. We heard people behind us singing...not everyone knows Spanish! My ears are still ringing from the music before Jason came out. Honestly I thought I'd have to leave because the bass was SO loud and hard that I could hardly breathe. Phew. The Fray sang for an hour then we decided to leave cuz I was tired of standing so I don't know how much longer they sang. I'd guesstimate they sang 12 songs b4 we left, but we only knew the words to 4 of them. I was glad the Ting Tings canceled. A few people in line said they were there to hear Jason, suffer through the Ting Tings, then hear The Fray. lol No one around us in the venue knew who Jason was but he did say he'd be back Feb 1 so hopefully some of them will want to come back. Jason looked beautiful. I can't tell you what he was wearing because they had all kinds of colored spotlights on him that distorted the color of his clothes. My husband hasn't heard Jason since Sept '08 on the tour and he said his voice has improved tremendously. His dreads were kinda fly-away in the lights, he sang with his eyes closed much of the time. When he told the story of how his dad came to his school during Christmas time when Jason was in Kindergarten, and sang Feliz Navidad with him, the whole crowd 'awwww'd' He liked that! More tomorrow! Have to catch up on Twitter and get some hot chocolate. My toes still haven't thawed.

Still trying to thaw my toes out too! Thanks for the recap of my recap Darlin'! There weren't really "rows", we were standing. I was sort of in row 1 1/2-2 1/2. Right in the center! The front line had to stand on a little uphill rise and I didn't want to stand there because it felt uncomfortable. No worries, RQ, I carefully CHOSE my spot! I left part way through The Fray so I don't know how long they sang. Jason asked people to sing along to Feliz Navidad and said it was repetitive. When he fnished the song, he said he only heard about the first three rows singing. That's what I was talking about to Darlin', Hannah. Just that one song. I agree the music before he came on was way too loud and the bass was so loud I could feel it pounding in my chest. WVApeaches got some amazing pictures and she said she'll post them here. It was so nice to finally meet her. She's so sweet and nice. So are Miss Debbie and Mickey Mouse (pancakes!). Unfortunately only a select few knew in advance about the time and location of Jason's pre-show radio interview - even though it was held in a restaurant that was open to the public and anyone was welcome to attend. It's too bad the information wasn't shared. We just happened to go into the restaurant to eat and found out about it and stayed for it - even though we were told by a street teamer that "nothing was happening" there. By the time our food arrived, so did Jason! I got a big smile and wave from him and that was worth standing out in the cold for. We got there early enough that we were in the front of the line before we went to eat. Some nice kids held our place while we went to eat and then we held theirs when they went to eat. Jason didn't talk a lot, but like Hannah said he told that cute story about singing Feliz Navidad with his Dad in the first grade and that it was a great memory for him. He talked about coming back to Columbus in February. A few people yelled out from the crowd - "I love you" and he said "I love you too" and someone yelled "Merry Christmas" and he said "Merry Christmas to you too." He mentioned his album coming out and his web site. I had such a great time! I so enjoyed meeting the new ladies and really enjoyed seeing Jason again. Can't wait for the next time!

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed that Jason was going to do an interview in the bar next door 2 the venue and that some Jason fans knew about it, but didn't share that information. It was a public bar, as Sherry said, and there were people there who had no idea who Jason is, therefore it didn't need to be hush-hush. When a couple of the people who didn't know Jason asked about him, someone handed them a couple flyers she had left in her purse from previous street teaming. She was chastised by the street team for doing that because it wasn't a sanctioned event. We told a bunch of young people around us in the venue who he was and that he'd be back in Columbus on Feb 1. We also told them his album would be out in January and that he's an amazing guy! Hopefully he made a lot of new fans tonight!
Sorry I didn't see you there, sherry. It was packed and I didn't want to push my way through the crowd! Glad you had fun and really happy you got to see Jason beforehand!!

hey girls, I have a question about the line. about what time did the line start getting long (as in more than 10-20 people)? I'm trying to figure out how things will go in Orlando...
and when the Fray tweeted that the Ting Tings canceled I knew you girls wouldn't be devastated! haha did they not tell y'all till after the show started though? seemed I knew about it quite awhile before I saw hanna tweet it.

SaneCage any forecasts yet? So far, highs in the low 70's, lows in the high 40's at night. Partly cloudy. But this far out it's all guess work anyway. BTW, I like the typo of my screen name, but I don't know that many would call me "sane".

They didn't tell us the Ting Tings canceled until after Jason sang! Their manager got up on stage and explained that one of them was extremely ill and was told by a Dr (who was supposedly in the audience) that she could not perform. They should have said something sooner because some people may have stayed longer.
When we drove up to the venue around 6:15 (doors opened at 7--but it was more like 7:15) there were approx 40 people in line. We sat in our car until 6:40 because it was pouring and freezing out. We still got a decent spot on the main floor although I couldn't see because I'm short. However, we didn't have Kris Allen there & I really think the crowd would have been bigger had he been there plus had it not been miserable outside.

My pictures didn't turn out. Either I had the camera set wrong or it was too dark & I wasn't holding it still enough (over my head so I couldn't see what I was taking) and the auto-focus couldn't work. Disappointed. Here's my 10 seconds of Jason singing the first song. That's all I got.

No convos overheard because we honestly couldn't hear ourselves think. My ears are still plugged today. The lady next to me was dancing to Jason's songs. lol I was standing in the Buuurp juice she'd spilled so I'm thinking she was feeling good, and she did yell to me that he's SO cute. The kids in front of us had never heard of Jason and truthfully they chatted through much of his set (except Feliz Navidad & Hallelujah prob because they were familiar songs & ppl were singing along). The atmosphere there was that of a dance club...loud and wild. So with Jason, the singer of love songs (which is how he introduced his set...as love songs), it was a real drop in the energy. Not that he wasn't well received, but the young people seemed to be there to dance and sing and he was unfamiliar. I think the Feb show will be more intimate and probably a better fit for him. Maybe those who went to the bar next door or were there longer have some scoop!
