Thanks kQQky for letting me know about Dec 11th. I just got my tickets ordered! It's only about 63 miles from my house! I'm so excited to be seeing Jason again! I saw him Sept 13th and 16th! I had to go to etix.com for the tickets in case anyone wants to know.

Ha! I just figured out right now that this wasn't in JAX, Florida. I had been scheming and dreaming of seeing Jason twice in a week.

And HOB is going to be fantabulous!! (As are all of Jason's performances!) Still, two in a week would have been beyond wonderful ...

Jacksonville, NC is 50 miles north of Wilmington, NC. Highway 17 north .The marine base Camp LeJune is there. It's on the coast. It's below New Bern where Jason was on 9/16/09.

That would have been extremely convenient for you, LC. Of course, I would have come to keep you company for the show. I can't leave a fellow JC fan to watch alone ...

That's okay. You're allowed. I'm just reading back tonight cuz I'm at loose ends with my husband out late at a business thing. I'll send up a flare if I find any more.

Hey y'all! Some friends and I went to see Jason in Jacksonville, NC last night! The only other dreadheads I saw besides evernightt (she was with me) was singin72 and a girl I know is a dreadhead but not sure of her screen name here. I usually talk with her on face book and my space. We got there right at 7:00. Our tickets said 8:00 but Jason went on at 7:30! I'm so glad I told everyone we should get there at 7:00. So y'all might want to remember that info. One friend showed up 8:00 and was so upset she missed Jason. My ticket said Jason Castro on it too. Weird that it started early. We missed the meet & greet held earlier. Singin72 went to that. It was held in the billiards room of the bar. I got a new camera (early Christmas present from my son because he knew I had been researching cameras and this show was coming up) and had it for 1 day before the show. I had to figure out to take movies with it on the drive up (glad I didn't get car sick). I was praying that I was actually taking video during the show! It's a lot different than I'm used to.
Any way, Jason looked awesome as usual. He started off with "That's what I'm Here For". The lighting was not too bright at first, but became better after a couple of songs. I love that song so much! A girl yelled out that she loves him and he said "I love you too". And some guy hollered out "I want you" and it was quiet for a second and then Jason just said "oh" in a weird way and didn't waste anytime talking about the next song. I hope I can edit that out of the video somehow. Then he sang "Feliz Navidad". He said it was the first Christmas song he learned. He said his dad played it for his kindergarten class (I think he said in Spanish) and everybody thought he was cool because his dad sang. Then he sang "It Matters To Me" and it was beautiful! The lighting was so much better for this song. I was relieved because The Diamond Club in New Bern had terrible lighting as y'all know. He had said it was the last song he had written for the album. He then said that this next song was the first song he had written for the album and laughed about the order or something like that. I couldn't make out exactly what he said. It was "Love Uncompromised" and I zoomed in on his face the whole time because it was looking like my camera was doing well. OMG! That beautiful face! Those eyes! Those perfect teeth. That Smile! Oh, sorry, I got carried away there for a moment! Then he said the next song is his first song released and that it is available on itunes and we can pre-order his album from his website that it's a pretty cool website and to check it out. I think he is doing very well with the banter in between songs. He exudes such confidence. I could tell he was pleased when the audience was singing along. He looked so happy up on that stage! I didn't want it to end! Gosh, don't we just love that boy! He didn't whistle much at the beginning of the song, but that was okay. The last song he did was "Hallelujah" and it was amazing as usual. He gave a girl his water bottle at some point because she asked for it. I don't remember exactly when but I just now thought of it.
Immediately we went out of the concert section and went to the bar area. That is when we saw singin72 and as we were talking, Jason appeared and was bombarded with fans waiting to see him. I couldn't help it I mingled myself on over (I'm glad no one fussed at me for nonchalantly getting in front of them). Evernightt, two friends, and I miraculously got pics and autographs with him. Evernightt and I gave him a Christmas present.( A Tom Petty Deluxe 4 disc DVD and CD set, DVDs I had made of his Folley Beach and New Bern shows, a Folley Beach slide show of my pictures I took , and fellow label mates Serena Ryder's and NEEDTOBREATHE's Greenville, SC show that I went to in October. He was only there briefly and when the next band started he abruptly stopped mingling with fans and said he was going to check out the band! He actually went to the concert area and watched some of the show with the crowd. But unfortunately, he was constantly asked for pics too much. Even if I hadn't got pics just prior to that, I would have respected the fact that he wanted to see some of the show from that standpoint. I was only a few feet away and just watched how gracious he still was. He didn't stay out there on the floor but maybe ten minutes or so. And he disappeared. Singing 72 said that she had not heard of him coming out like that at these recent shows other than the meet and greets. So I feel like we were really lucky to have gotten our pics and autographs without the meet and greet opportunity. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, when I was talking to him after a pic I did ask for a hug and then told him that he had dedicated "It's Alright With Me" to me in New Bern and that I wanted to thank him for that. He said "You're very welcome"
Then singin 72 showed me a tweet from Jason thanking Sue and evernightt for the Tom Petty gift and he had put a pic of the DVD on JCM! Then he thanked the goth girls for their gift of a Ray LaMontagne vinyl album titled Trouble and put that pic on JCM too! I watched some of the other bands and they were awesome too! It was an awesome time I'll treasure forever! I'm looking forward to seeing Jason again in NC in January! We here in NC have been very lucky that Jason has come around several times these past months!
I will post my videos (I am very pleased with them this time) as soon as I can. Got to make some space availabe on my computer first so I can upload them.
