Wow, I finally get to a show and come here to celebrate and it's the only one not listed anywhere! LOL, it were AMAZING....after so long to get to see Jason and we were right up close, nice intimate setting! And I actually spoke to Jason! Hadn't intended to but exiting the venue was almost like a receiving line at a wedding so spoke briefly to Jason and told Matt I really enjoyed his set as well! ;D

Yeah lane! good to see you and so glad you got a chance to see him "up close and personal!" Isn't he growing by leaps and bounds? I sure hope you saw the review in the New York Times. I was so excited by that. NY Times sees what we do!

Lane, Some people were asking where you were. Hope you liked the show. I think the threads are put up by people who are going to a particular show for the most part.

I met at least one other dreadhead there, sadly I don't remember the screenname. (I'd had a couple of glasses of wine). The lady who was right in front of me when we were leaving had a "Hi Liz Lemon" sign to photograph Jason with, so I assume she was one of the brethren. I think the people at the next table may have been DHs as well, I heard them talking about other shows.
The times review made my week a little sunnier, major score!
I actually felt pretty bad for poor Matt Hires, the audience was way distracted when he went on, really chatty, it was almost rude. I really liked his set. Caitlin's too.
We said she was like someone who was groomed to be a Britney Spears barbie girl who got her hands on some old Lilith Fair tapes and was like, the heck with it! That's what I wanna be!

I know that has been an issue with Matt. Jason has come down a couple of times during his meet and greet to watch Matt's show to draw people over to Matt. I get the impression they may have been rushed last night. They have to be in Ohio today. I will happy to see all the kids next week. Especially Jason of course.

Oh and review wise, awesome! Jason has a much rougher edgy quality in person, which combined with his slightly Muppety quality is just about perfect! Loved hearing That's What I'm Here For, and my friend who came a long really dug IMTM. I was having WAY too much fun, at one point I saw some old dude who was getting a big kick out of my enjoyment.
That last note on Hallelujah was transcendental. So "worth the wait" to finally see a live show. If I weren't moving today I'd seriously be considering dreadheading it to Columbus tonight!

Oh yeah, they were all wicked exhausted. Jason gave props to Cailtin Hires and then was like, wait, what did I just say? What city are we in?

Matt kindly responded with thanks to my tweet last night as well, told him it was a good set and he was a gifted songwriter.

lane - I totally feel you on the leaving without hearing Matt's set, it is rude. He is the host so with all due respect we should try and stay and watch his set. I also understand wanting to see Jason, but even if I have to superglue my *fanny* to the chair I'm staying for the full set. hope you stick around, you always add some good "food for thought" and frankly I like your honesty!

Lol, thanks rosequeen. I even was 'honest' with Jason, told him it was a joy to finally see him and that I wanted him to bring So Fast back into the list at some point, that it was really special and meaningful and was the song that made him stand out to me as more than just and Idol contestant.

Thanks Lane for the review; I want to tell Jason so many things but when I get to finally, my tongue is tied; I have a hard time speaking. Bummer!

Hi Lane1 i've missed you!
So glad you got to a show. I was at the NYC show. LOVED IT! Jason was amazing! And i loved your comment about Caitlyn Crosby being a rebel against the typecast! I felt that , too!
I feel a little bad about Matt Hires- The people at my end of the table DID stay for his set, but we got up during the next to the last song to be closer to the lobby door so we would be better "positioned" for the meet and greet. In retrospect, i think that the empty chairs probably gave the appearance that we had left, even though we were still there listening, and applauding. Wish I had thought of that at the time- i would have stayed seated.

good for you lane, I think Jason appreciates it, can you image how "boring" it gets to just have everyone saying "I loved you on idol", "you're so cute", "how long have you been growing your dreads" lol, I know with LaToya London, she always told her brother she loved me because I never handled her with kid gloves, I was always riding her about "taking care of business", she never listened but she like to hear it. lol

It wasn't so much people leaving at this venue as it was the noise volume, full blown conversation buzz going on the whole time.
Jason had to do some meet and greet before Matt could even start his set. Waiting for your opener to finish autographs before you can start? Ouch!

just - I think we all just get "excited" and all thought goes out the window, I'm just gonna really try to make a effort and keep telling myself Jason always stays for the fans. lol *note to self, pack super glue*

grrr I hate chit chat during shows, I heard one of the places straight up gives the rules out before the show, I like that, they should all do that.

Thanks, RQ-I did stay and listen to Matt, but just not in my seat.
The meet and greet was in the lobby, so we just wanted to get closer to the door , for an easier exit when the time came.
But i guess that was even rude, because Joe's pub is such a sit-down place.
When we did make our quick exit after Matt's set, there were already lots of people in the lobby, so they must have left during the set.
I did tell Matt that i enjoyed his set, and he seemed to appreciate that alot.

I wouldn't worry just1 Matt seems to be a pretty cool dude, just stuck in an awkward position. We were actually joking that they may have to pull a New Kids/Tiffany and switch who is the opener.
