Rico: How was the show? It was so nice to meet you in San Diego, and I'm glad you got to meet Jason. You are so cute.

My friend and fellow DH like #1153 or something cmgirl, she sent her friend to this show and her friend took 3 friends. I will ask her when I talk to her how they liked it. Hope the EP's were restocked. Really love Atlantic ran out. Bet they loved it too!

Looking back, I wish I went to Tuscon. It's was a late Saturday show, so the drive (7hrs+) wouldn't be so bad...? Oh well, can't wait to see where he's touring this April.

Looking back, I wish I went to Tuscon. It's was a late Saturday show, so the drive (7hrs+) wouldn't be so bad...? Oh well, can't wait to see where he's touring this April. I wish you could have come.... There were only about 30 people there. I was surprised because it was Saturday night. I was so busy that day. I flew back from San Diego to Phoenix and rented a car at the Phoenix airport and stopped by home to take a quick shower. It is only two hours drive from home to Tucson but I didn't want my husband to drive. He has been sick so I decided to rent a car and drive there all by myself. But my husband was so worried because I am not a good driver. (Well, I don't drive in Tokyo at all. It is more convenient to take a train and bus there.) and also the show starts late, 9:00 pm, so he insisted to drive me to the venue. I was also very nervous to drive so I let him drive my rental car and we went there together. I didn't meet any of dreadheads there but met Laura Anne @jgg. She was so nice and friendly. She said she recognized me because she saw my picture at David's twitter. The place, Solar Culture, is basically an art gallery. They had a stage but many art paintings were all over the wall. Very cool place. it was so relaxing atmosphere that you could almost feel like you were at someone's living room with your friends. Sometimes people in an audience talked to Jason on a stage and he talked to them back during the show, but I guess Jason was too relaxed because he forgot a word when he performed "If I Were You". I didn't videotape it but Laura Anne did. It was so funny! Everybody laughed.

My husband enjoyed the show as much as I did and he was quite impressed by Stephen's guitar skill.
After the show, Mandy came over and said hi to me. She is so sweet. I met her the night before and she remembered me! And Jason came and joined us! I introduced my husband to Jason and Mandy. (It was surreal, but then the whole things happened to me in the three days were surreal anyway). We had a small chat for a few minutes. My husband told them that he lived in Phoenix. I guess Jason and Mandy were confused because they know I came from Japan and I didn't have a chance to explain about our long distance marriage situation.
Anyway, I was very nervous again so I didn't talk much but my husband said to Jason, "The guy who played guitar with you is very good. I am so impressed!" and I was screaming within my mind "Please! Please! Say something nice about Jason too!!" lol.
It's funny because my husband has a favorite shirts that he wears almost everyday. I hated it and was always complaining about the shirts. But when I saw Jason in San Diego the night before, I thought "Hmmm...I didn't notice before but his shirts kinda look like my husband's favorite shirts...." And my husband was wearing his favorite shirts again that night at Solar Culture and when we were chatting with Jason and Mandy, Jason said, "Hey, by the way, nice shirts! It look like my shirts I wore yesterday."
I always wanted to throw away that my husband's shirts but now I love it. haha.

We left the venue and headed home before Matt's show was over. I wanted to stay longer but my husband got tired and I was not a driver so I had to go. And on the way home from Tucson, we stopped by a gas station. We filled up my rental car and bought coffee. When we were drinking coffee outside of a store, my husband said "Isn't that Jason?" I thought he was teasing me because I was still so excited about having met Jason. I said "Yeah, sure." and turned around.....My husband was right!! Jason was there putting gas in the big white ban that I saw in front of Casbah and Solar culture!! Again, it was so surreal to me!!
I wanted to go say hi but I didn't. It was around midnight and I knew Jason was tired. Also I didn't want him to think that I was a stalker or something who came all the way from Japan. haha. That's scary.
He filled up the ban and drove away. His driving didn't seem so bad as I thought.

Wow, Rico, quite the brave one aren't you. I'm so completely thrilled your husband went with you. What a treat that was. I'm also so proud of you for driving and facing your fears. One question, though, did you learn anything about driving from all the unexpected u-turns and driving up the wrong way on a one way street from me? Sherry is, by far, the better driver. Sorry, we spoke too fast for you to understand. You smiled so much that I thought you could understand. By the way, you have one of the most pleasant smiles. I can not wait to get home to watch your videos. Where are your pictures? You got some really good pictures.

LOL, loved the recap Rico. It's funny how so many people run into Jason at random and don't go up to him because they don't want to appear as if they are stalking him!

Yes, Rico. How about not getting stuck with the the train track gates coming down behind you and the alarm and flashing lights are on ahead? Darlin' , I'm just teasing. The streets were confusing... Rico, sounds like you continue to have lots of fun on this road trip of yours. Wish I was there. Love your recap.

I am sure I annoyed so many drivers behind me. You were driving good, Darlene! I enjoyed the thrilling ride. You were just trying to entertain us, right? (just kidding, haha) Aghhh...I just noticed that I spelled wrong. ban ---> X van ---> O That's one of the most typical mistakes Japanese people make...v and b. r and l...I gotta improve my English. Oh, by the way, most of the pictures I took are not great. I wish I had a camera like yours. But I will upload all pictures on Photobucket tonight.

What makes you so sure Jason didn't follow Rico & hubby to the gas station? Huh? Haha. I prefer to think that way! When we left the gas station, my husband said "Maybe Jason noticed you and is probably driving at 100 mph right now not to let you catch up." I said "NOOOOO!! I am not a stalker!!"
