I'm baaaaaack. Good morning everyone. Still in afterglow of last night. Ya'll that know me know I never ever gush over Jason unless I'm messing with you. He is a 22 year old kid who has a beautiful voice, and that is it. I much more love to gush over ya'll's gushing over Jason. I love to take ya'lls pictures and shoot pictures and video just for ya'll and get excited with ya'll when you gush over Jason. Just clarifying things, so ya'll can properly appreciate my overview. Woke up yesterday morning with some serious stomach cramps. I had to rest instead of making the lunch that I HAD PLANNED. Finally, I was able to start the 5 hr trip to pick up my mom (for her b/d) down south and then go northwest to Austin. The trip was long because a lot of the roads were 2 lane and in country travelin' people, 2 lanes are really slow. Anyway, due to ttfn's bff Macy & Readheaded_Dreadhead's instructions we made it to The Domain about 1/2 hour before things started. My mom is on a walker, so I positioned her about 15 feet to the south-left of where the microphone was and took off to find ttfn. ttfn & Macy were fortunate enough to get tickets for the pre-concert meet and greet. I stood outside the jewelry store waiting for them and got to see the really cute girls who were so excited to have Jason's picture. Oh, my goodness the tweens and younger have a thing for Jason, didn't expect that. ttfn came out and showed me her pic that Jason had signed (Halo). I had seen Rene and wanted to ask a favor about getting Jason to sign something later on and mailing it back to me (Leiland). She convinced me to go in and gave me her used ticket. The gal at the door let me in. So, for the first time ever, I didn't have my camera and was going to be forced to have interface with Jason. Ya'll, I got so nervous and talkative (which is usually a sign I'm super nervous). I talked with security and anyone else who would listen. ttfn & Macy came up to calm me down (didn't work). I don't even remember what I said to Jason, but I was sure bossy. I noticed Rene had a camera and told him thanks, but no thanks. ttfn told me I had to take a picture with Jason. I took a step back and placed my arm casually around his back and smiled. Not at all in my comfort zone. His dreads were soft, though. I thanked Rene, thanked ttfn and started to walk away. I turned around as I was walking away and said "oh yeah, thank you, too" to Jason. Poor kid looked bewildered as to pain he had just subjected me to (which I think was the pain I subjected him to). I'm waaaay too flighty to have to have an actual exchange of words with the object of my obsession that is actually the object of my obession's fans. But, I did see those blue eyes looking at me, so beautiful. Oh, and to all ya'll neysayers out there who think I won't, when ttfn sends the picture, I will post it. I may be fat and all, but I got a picture with young Mr. Castro and ya'll can focus on him. After all, he never takes a bad picture, right, so the person or persons in the picture with him never look bad either, right? Concert coming up next. And, lets just say, last night I met two more fans of Jason that were not fans before the concert. gottcha!

Ya know, RQ, I was so taken aback at his song selection. To sing O Holy Night a song with the Gospel presented. Its not a easy song to sing, to begin with. Feliz Navidad, a song of his youth and that medly - all about Jesus' birth. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Jason, we all know where his roots are. He took a stand for his Christianity last night. I am so proud of him.

Hallelujah This one he looks like he's looking into the camera lens. He's not, he's looking at me struggling with the video camera behind the guy with my camera.

A BIG thanks to everyone for the recaps, pictures and videos.
I wish we could have attended but this is the next best thing.
O Holy Night is my most favorite Christmas song and I LOVE Jason's version....it kind of had a slight country vibe to it....I also liked that he didn't try to "kill" it and go for the big notes like many do....He jasonzied it and I LOVE it... as corny as it sounds I wiped away a few tears when he finished....I could tell that he totally understood exactly what he was singing. It's a powerful song when you really listen to the words....
Thank you Jason!elebenty-one!!

That is what is so powerful about these songs. You know Jason sings them from his heart. That is why they touch you so much.

I felt so moved by it and I am sure that was the intent. :-)

Christmas medley That's all folks And now for the personal touch. I met an amazing gal, the one in the middle. To the right of her is my mom, who put up with my Jason obsession for the last 1.5 year, but secretly didn't like it. Mom is now a Jason fan. Ya'll should have heard her telling her sister about how wonderful Jason's voice, priceless. Today is her birthday and what a special way we got to celebrate it yesterday. Hey, and at 77, every year is special, right? This is a special picture to me. a couple of my favorite "experienced" Jason fans and a couple of new ones. Oh, and this was taken in the lobby of the hotel where ttfn, her bff and the Castros stayed. Can you imagine how surprised ttfn & Macey were to be stalked by the Castros (its happened before for ttfn). I wished she'd post her elevator experience. Too cute.

Goodness, Darlene! Thanks for sharing your Austin experience! Your pictures are lovely and so are the videos! I love hearing all of the stories surrounding these events. That is so wonderful that you brought your mom and she now can share in your enthusiasm for Jason and his music. Sounds like you had a fun filled time..... always is a whirlwind of excitement and unexpected happenings.
I do want to hear ttfn's elevator experience! Is that how they got the meet and greet passes?
Jason will just have to come out with a Christmas album! I am so thrilled to hear him sing real Christmas songs. I was hoping he would have last year in Garland.
Thanks, Lorraine and Darlin' and pandasmama for the vids. The first thing I did this morning was come looking for all of you videos! You are so thoughtful of all of your DH friends and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing those with us!

Had a FAB time in Austin. Met up with my bff from high school about 10:45 am. We parked right outside of Macy’s. Everyone was suppose to meet at California Pizza. We met up with 2 missing dreadheads from DDB days. We had a nice lunch together and agreed to meet up around 4ish. It was time to shop. We walked into the plaza area and saw rows of black chairs. I asked a group of people (also dressed in black with passes hanging around their necks) what the black chairs were for. It was for the VIP’s. I guess we just lucked out because they asked if we wanted meet & greet passes. Well yes we did! As we were heading out of the plaza, I noticed the area where they control the sound. So we stopped and asked when sound check was. It was 20 minutes later. I told my bff we HAD to stay for sound check. Jason and crew arrive for sound check and he tells everyone hello. I saw lots of Jason’s family and friends as well. I have pics but it’s up to Darlin’ to post as I don’t know how.
The meet & greet was a lot of fun. I had no idea that this was the only meet & greet to be had that night. How lucky was I?? My bff asked if Jason would remember me. I said no. But we started walking up towards him and he says "I remember you".....thud. I introduced Jason to my bff and told him that we went to high school with Gerry Beckley. Jason was so sweet. Rene took our picture. Then Darlin' arrives and I give her my pass to go in and meet Jason. I know she was on a mission and that's the only reason she went in to see Jason. I ran over to Rene and told him this was Darlin's very first photo op and would he mind taking the picture. He did and it's cute!!!
Everyone else has given lots of details about the concert so I will skip over that part.
We met up with Starlight at California Pizza. The Mai Tai's were great. So were the fish tacos. Then we met up with Darlin and her beautiful mom at our hotel. My bff asks if I think Jason is staying at our hotel. I say no...he is probably driving back home after the show. We arrive and Darlin' says he is staying at our hotel. Man...Jason is making a liar out of me every step of the way! We have a wonderful time with Starlight, Darlin' and Mama Dreads. They took off for home and we decided to try the hotels Choctini's. Two drinks later we decide to head up to the room. With Choctini in hand, we get on the elevator (there are a lot of people on the elevator) and guess who is standing there fixing to punch the buttons? JASON....when we made eye contact - all I could muster up was I SWEAR I'M NOT STALKING YOU. He laughed, touched my bff's shoulder and said something about her being a new friend. They were very kind and all said goodbye to us. Geezzzz. I couldn't even tell you who else was on the elevator. Once you make eye contact with those blue eyes...well your eyes don't look around at other faces. What a great moment for me and my bff.
The next morning my bff asks if I think we will run into them checking out. Once again I say no. I look out the window and see a large suv taking off and say they just left. So we go down stairs and who do I see but Jackie. We go out the doors and I see Jason and crew standing around their cars. I just figured this was toooooo much contact and ran across the street to get one of our cars. My bff got to people watch. Lucky her! When I pulled into the hotel arrival/drop off circle I had to wait (and watch) while they all got in their cars. Imagine me having to look at Jason's back/pantz.
Fun was had by all and I would do it all again in a heart beat!

WOW, ttfn! How did you manage to be so in the right place at the right time, not once but three times?!! I'm sure there are many of us who are very jealous, but happy for you! And I'm so happy Darlin' got her photo op with Jason. I didn't even realize that she hadn't before! Can't wait to see all the great pictures, Darlin'! So glad you all got to meet up AND hear Jason sing Christmas songs!
