Hello all - I know I'm late, but life got in the way of posting. I had a great time with my fellow Dreadies and getting to meet some Copians (those ladies really are a stich to be around). I finally got to me Winnie (yeah!) and meet Sue (double yeah - cause she's quiet). The concert is a blur to me, so I really can't give a recap on it. I do love some of his new songs like "All Wrapped Up", but didn't care for the Kara song and I thought I would. The new band fits Jason so much better. They are young, cute, hip and know how to rock it. Aside from the awesome music, the one thing that got me was when the fogging machine went off, I thought wow - this is turning into a real rock show (like I have any experience in real rock shows - lol). The lighting and sound was so much better this time around than in any of the previous concerts, including TAMU (which I still think was better). As many have said and I want to reitterate, Jason has grown up so much in the past year and a half. He still had his quirky was about him which keeps him enduring. He still has a long way to go on his stage presence banter, but the kid has come along way musically. I heard him hit notes and sing a vibrato like I've never heard before. They were defiantely pleasing to the ears. I invited my best friend to the Katy Mills Mall concert and told her I wasn't sure she would like his music (she's hard core country) and she remarked that she liked him ok on American Idol. I told her he is definately NOT the same singer he was on AI. Jason doing all these smaller venue concerts is so working in his favor. Diamond Dave is a good manager. And now to my pictures. Other's have such quality pictures of Jason that mine pale in comparison. I wanted to know if ya'll wanted to see the band picture taken from my camera? Here are 2 pictures you havene't seen before: The Jason Castro and band Some of Jason's lovely ladies and handsome guys and a few others thrown in for good measure.

Thanks for the report, Darlin! It sounds like you had a blast!
Where are you in that photo? Or were you behind the camera?

I think I will eventaully get around to posting pics and a recap, FYI I cut all Paris' DreadLock off today!! Something about meeting Jason last Saurday really freaked him out and since then he has wanted his Dreads cut off!! I think it was all teh crazy attention he got the whole weekend and picture taking. Not sure.
But he said alsso that he wwants them off because it hurts really bad when he puts his shirts on, theshirs get stuck on his head and pull his hair. Probally why Jason wear alot of button up shirts and V necks.
I took pictures cutting htem off and I saved them. For a young 4 year old he is a tropper to keep them fo 3 months and sit still for 6 hours 3 different times to have them done, and go through everything to wash and dry them, sleeping with a stocking on his head every night.

Steven Kanica Hmmmm...in this particular picture, Stephan reminds me A LOT of the young John Lennon.....hee hee....he was my favorite Beatle! I second that, Darlin'...I was also curious which of the songs was Kara's?....I actually like them all, so far... I think all your pictures are pretty darn fantastic Ms Houston! Sure wish I could have had the chance to come back to Dallas and seen all of you Texas gals again...

Ahh...the little sweetheart...What he does for his mama! Paris was absolutely darling with those baby dreads, but I can imagine that they probably would be uncomfortable and pretty high maintenance for a child to have to deal with...never even would have thought about it before...I thought maybe he was just tired and all of a sudden having a very shy moment with Jason when he met him at the Gap. It probably was a bit frightening to see how BIG and three dimensional Jason was in REAL LIFE and then to see how LONG Jason's dreads are... He probably panicked and thought...No way, Jose!!! Not to mention how terrifying it would be to have ALL those "strange" women cooing and making a fuss over him! There's only so much a fella can take...He was very brave, indeed!

Does anybody have a favorite of the new music?
Although I have come to love "Let's Just Fall in Love Again", I just listened to all the concert music over, like all of it but am absolutely in love with It Matters to ME. I think it is beautiful and real pro stuff.
Anybody else think there's a big time winner in there?
Oh the crowd was really into "Let's Just Fall in Love Again"...so many knew it, were singing along, really lovin it.

Out of all the Jason songs I've heard lately..."It Matter's to Me" is the one that keeps popping up out of the blue and I start humming the tune or singing a line or two...I have even woke up humming it a couple times...amazing! It is a very tenderhearted song and soo much like Jason, I think... There is a certain vulnerability to it...and very intimate.

All the songs were wonderful, I noticed big Crowd reactions to "Let's Just Fall in Love Again", Closer,His new Uke Song, "I'd Fall For Me" I really liked that one alot. Of course Hallelujia was Divine and the flying Hellicopter gave it this Dark essence. Love Uncompromised stood out and It Matters to me. I liked the Song he did with Jackie, and I think the CD version with Serena will sound nice, I assume you will be able to hear Serena's Soulful voice over Jackie's Background

I love all the different sounds and styles of music he is singing. He is really amazing and it seems he could be a wonderful cross over artist in several different categories. I think his fan base will be quite diverse and wide spread.

Did it seem to you all that Jackie's mic was way low first half and then it seemed more normal? Waking up humming...that's really nice.. I really did love most but IMTM was love at first sight...er audio. I could not remember which was the uke song but now that you mention it, I did like it!
I was amazed that people stayed who did not know him or the music...a good sign! Didn't it seem like a responsive crowd to be full of many more ppl than hard core fans? I can't get the concert out of my mind!
It seems like such a good album and to think he wrote all but three; Atlantic's showing him some respect for his abilities!

Its so cool to read everyone's recaps - its like remembering the whole event in 3D. Sixtimemom's husband's videos are great. I finally got a chance to watch the vids last night. Glad you snatched him up, Sixtime, 'cause we need him. I like that he didn't focus solely on Jason (even though that's where everyone else was focused - lol). Thanks for the other videos too - the gal to the left of Jason (facing Jason) did a good job of capturing so many emotions. I expecially liked the gleam in Jason's eye caught as he was attempting to whistle in "Let's Just Fall in Love Again". Winnie's is just what would be expected from video at the base of Jason's feet. ;D It's great Winnie! Here is one more from Sixtimemom's daughter of Closer. First time to pick up the camera - did a pretty good job to me. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcQmQujyVgsThe Kara song that I didn't care for is "This Heart of Mine" - it shows Jason's range wonderfully - I just frankly don't care for the lyrics and most of the melody - sounds too much like other songs that I like much better. And, did anyone else notice how after the mishap on "All Wrapped Up" Eli's drums got much louder through out the rest of the concert? I felt those drums in my heart - that's how strong they were. I like Eli - so very personable and a cutie pututie. He took the time to talk with whomever before the soundcheck and then came back later on to where everyone was sitting and standing.

I suspect that was not the mic that she was supposed to use that they did the sound check on. Jackie was not meant to sing background. She was meant to sing Serena's part which is a Duet with Jason. That was the sound people's fault.

Darlin I too am glad that Sixtimemom got the video with the entire band. I could not do it as close as I am on the stage under Jason's nose. But I captured great audio in front of the speakers and as far as I heard, even the cell cast turned out great. No swimming underwater? I did not notice any of the things you mentioned about the difference in the drum sound and all that standing right in front of the speakers. The only thing obvious was Jackie's low mic volume.
